EKSU DISOWNS FAKE CIRCULAR ON ₦75,000 ACCEPTANCE FEE, WARNS STUDENTS AGAINST FRAUDSTERS

The Management of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, has disowned a purported circular circulating on social media, dated November 3, 2026, which claims that newly admitted students are required to pay an acceptance fee of Seventy-Five Thousand Naira (₦75,000), with immediate effect.

The University wishes to state categorically that the purported circular did not emanate from the Management of EKSU and should be disregarded by members of the university community, prospective students, newly admitted students and their parents or guardians.

The University has not issued any directive requiring newly admitted students to pay the said amount as stated in the fake notice.

For the avoidance of doubt, the legitimate acceptance fees approved by the University Council are those clearly indicated in the individual admission letters issued to successful candidates. Students are therefore advised to be guided by the information contained in their admission letters and to make payments strictly through the University’s authorised payment channels.

The Management further warns students, parents and guardians to be wary of fraudulent messages and circulars designed to mislead unsuspecting members of the public and extort money from them.

The University will not be responsible for payments made into unauthorised accounts or through unofficial platforms. Anyone who receives a suspicious payment demand is advised to verify its authenticity through the appropriate University channels before taking any action.

The University remains committed to protecting the interests of its students and maintaining transparency in its admission and payment processes.

Members of the public are urged to disregard the fake circular and rely only on verified information released through the University’s recognised communication platforms.
