The member representing Ekiti Central Federal Constituency II in the House of Representatives, Hon. Biodun Omoleye, has assured residents of Aramoko-Ekiti that all ongoing constituency projects would be completed and delivered to the people, dismissing fears of possible abandonment.

Omoleye gave the assurance on Thursday following the return of the contractor handling the Ijofi Road construction project in Aramoko-Ekiti, Ekiti West Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
Work has resumed on the road, with grading and shaping of the subgrade currently underway, marking a significant step towards the eventual completion of the project.
One of the contractors working on the site attributed the earlier withdrawal from the project to persistent heavy rainfall, which disrupted earthworks, caused damage to infrastructure and resulted in operational losses for the construction company.
The contractor, however, assured residents that construction activities would progress at a faster pace with the arrival of the dry season, explaining that the improved weather conditions would provide a more favourable environment for uninterrupted work and accelerate the completion of the project.
According to a statement from the lawmaker’s media office, the development underscores his commitment to ensuring that projects facilitated across the constituency are completed in line with their intended objectives.
Speaking on the contractor’s return to site, Omoleye reaffirmed his determination to fulfil his promises to constituents, insisting that no project initiated under his representation would be abandoned.
“I want to assure our people in Aramoko-Ekiti and across Ekiti Central Federal Constituency II that no project we have started will be abandoned. The contractor is back on site, work is progressing steadily, and we are determined to see it completed in good time,” he said.
The lawmaker explained that the ongoing grading and shaping of the subgrade constituted a critical phase of road construction, stressing the need for strict adherence to engineering standards to ensure the durability of the road.
“We are not just building roads; we are building roads that will last. That is why we insist on due process and quality at every stage, from earthworks to asphalting. The people deserve value for every project,” he added.
Omoleye described infrastructure development as a major catalyst for economic growth and social advancement, noting that improved road networks would facilitate transportation, enhance commercial activities and connect rural communities to economic opportunities.
He said the completion of the Ijofi Road project would particularly benefit farmers, traders, students and other residents who depend on the route for their daily activities.
“When this road is completed, it will ease transportation for our market women, our farmers and our children going to school. It will also boost the local economy of Aramoko. That is the essence of representation,” he stated.
The federal lawmaker appealed to residents to cooperate with the contractor and other workers handling the project to ensure its timely completion. He also urged the community to take ownership of the infrastructure by protecting it against vandalism and other forms of damage.
“I appeal to our people to cooperate with the contractor and give them the needed support. These projects are yours. We must protect them and ensure they serve us for many years to come,” he said.
Residents of the Ijofi area reportedly expressed excitement over the contractor’s return, describing the resumption of work as a welcome development for a community that had endured transportation difficulties, particularly during the rainy season.
One of the residents said the ongoing grading work had rekindled hope among members of the community, recalling that the road had previously become almost impassable before the intervention.
Omoleye further assured constituents that his commitment to infrastructure development extended beyond Aramoko-Ekiti, disclosing that ongoing projects across Ijero, Efon and Ekiti West Local Government Areas would continue to receive attention until completion.
