The Executive Chairman of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government, Honourable Oluwatuyi Oluwagbenga, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to education and human capital development, describing knowledge as a veritable investment in the future.
The Chairman stated this in a goodwill message delivered by the Director of Budget, Mrs. Odeyemi Mosunmola, who represented him at the matriculation ceremony of part-time students of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology (BOUESTI), Igede-Ekiti Centre.
Honourable Oluwatuyi congratulated the newly matriculated students for their determination to pursue further education despite the demands of work, family and other responsibilities. He urged them to approach their academic journey with discipline, diligence, commitment and a strong determination to excel.
He emphasised that education goes beyond the acquisition of certificates, noting that it expands opportunities, develops human capacity, strengthens communities and equips individuals to make meaningful contributions to society.
The Chairman therefore encouraged the students to maximise the opportunity provided by BOUESTI, assuring them that their sacrifices and commitment to learning would ultimately yield positive dividends for themselves, their families and the society at large.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor of BOUESTI, Professor Andrew Babatunde Omojola, encouraged the students to take their studies seriously and make meaningful use of the academic opportunities available to them. He urged them to embrace discipline, excellence and responsible conduct throughout their academic journey.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the students as they formally commenced a new phase of their educational pursuits, with renewed hope for greater opportunities and accomplishments.
Honourable Oluwatuyi wished the matriculants a rewarding and successful academic journey, stressing that investing in knowledge today is an investment in a brighter and more prosperous tomorrow.
