As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security, promote community awareness, and sustain the prevailing peace within the local government area, the Ijero Local Government Security Architecture Committee was today June 8, 2026 paid a strategic visit to the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Adebayo Adewole, the Ajero of Ijero Kingdom, for a security briefing and public sensitization meeting.
The delegation was led by the Executive Chairman of Ijero Local Government, Hon. Julius Abayomi Folowosele, alongside representatives of various security agencies, local government officials, and other critical stakeholders committed to the safety and well-being of residents across the local government area.
Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Folowosele commended the various security agencies and personnel operating within Ijero Local Government for their dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and order. He noted that the relative peace currently enjoyed in the area was a product of effective collaboration among security agencies, traditional institutions, community leaders, and residents.
The Council Chairman emphasized that security remains one of the major priorities of his administration, stressing that meaningful development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and stability. He assured the royal father and members of the community that the local government would continue to provide the necessary support and partnership required to strengthen security operations and ensure the protection of lives and property.
Hon. Folowosele further stated that his administration remains committed to building on the solid foundation laid by previous leaders and the enduring legacy of peace established by the forefathers of the kingdom. He acknowledged the vital role being played by the Ajero of Ijero Kingdom in preserving the cultural values, unity, and peaceful coexistence that have long characterized the community.
During the interactive session, representatives of the various security agencies present at the meeting delivered detailed security briefings on the current security situation within and around the local government area. The officers highlighted emerging security concerns and provided practical advice on preventive measures aimed at safeguarding communities from potential external threats and criminal activities.
They urged residents to remain vigilant, security-conscious, and proactive in reporting suspicious movements, individuals, or activities to the appropriate authorities. The security personnel also stressed the importance of intelligence gathering, community policing, and cooperation between citizens and security agencies as critical components in the fight against crime and insecurity.
The sensitization session provided an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss contemporary security challenges and explore strategies for strengthening community resilience against any form of security threat. Participants were encouraged to see security as a collective responsibility that requires the active participation of every member of society.
Responding, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adebayo Adewole, the Ajero of Ijero Kingdom, expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Chairman and the various security agencies for their relentless efforts in ensuring that Ijero Local Government continues to enjoy peace and stability.
The monarch described the engagement as timely and commendable, noting that regular consultations and collaboration among government authorities, traditional institutions, and security agencies are essential to sustaining the peaceful atmosphere within the kingdom.
Oba Adewole urged all security operatives to remain steadfast, dedicated, and uncompromising in the discharge of their duties. He emphasized the need for continuous vigilance in view of evolving security challenges and encouraged residents to support security agencies with timely and credible information.
The royal father further assured the gathering of the palace’s unwavering support in matters relating to peace and security, stating that his doors remain open to receive reports and information that could assist in addressing security concerns within the kingdom and its environs.
He called on all residents, community leaders, youth groups, and stakeholders to continue promoting unity, vigilance, and peaceful coexistence, stressing that the preservation of peace remains a shared responsibility.
The meeting concluded with renewed commitments from all stakeholders to strengthen cooperation, improve intelligence sharing, and sustain the peaceful environment that has made Ijero Local Government one of the most secure and progressive areas in the state.
