The Executive Chairman of Ijero Local Government, Hon. Julius Abayomi Folowosele, has been honoured with the prestigious Icon of Local Government Award by the City Herald Organization in recognition of his outstanding leadership and remarkable contributions to grassroots governance.
The award, which was presented on August 6, 2026, celebrates Hon. Folowosele’s exemplary leadership qualities, unwavering commitment to community development, exceptional managerial competence, political prowess, and sustained efforts in fostering peace and harmonious coexistence among the people of Ijero Local Government.
According to the organizers, the recognition was bestowed on the Council Chairman after a thorough assessment of his performance in office, which has been characterized by purposeful leadership, transparency, inclusive governance, and a steadfast commitment to improving the welfare of the people.
The City Herald Organization noted that Hon.
