The Executive Chairman of Ijero Local Government, Hon. Julius Abayomi Folowosele, has commended the council workforce for their resilience and unwavering support during the recently concluded governorship election in Ekiti State, which returned Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) for a second term in office.

Hon. Folowosele made the remarks on Monday July 6, 2026 during a meeting with members of the council workforce at the local government secretariat in Ijero-Ekiti. The meeting coincided with the council’s monthly prayer session.

The Chairman lauded the workers for proving skeptics wrong over claims that Ijero Local Government would not deliver a total victory for Governor Oyebanji in the election. He noted that the overwhelming support demonstrated by the council workforce and the people of Ijero contributed immensely to the governor’s resounding re-election.

“Ijero has once again demonstrated its loyalty and commitment to progressive governance. I appreciate the dedication and support of our workforce, and I assure you that your efforts will not go unrewarded,” the Chairman said.

Assuring workers of the administration’s appreciation, Hon. Folowosele stated that they would definitely reap the fruits of their support for the Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji administration.

In a major announcement that elicited excitement among the workers, the Chairman disclosed that all pending promotions of council staff had been approved. He also assured employees that all outstanding claims and entitlements would be adequately attended to by the administration.

He, however, charged the workforce to remain diligent and punctual in the discharge of their duties, warning that lateness and absenteeism could attract government sanctions.

Dignitaries at the meeting included the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Sola Anifowose; the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Ijero Local Government Branch Chairman, Comrade Ilésanmí Temitope Semion; and directors of various departments, who were conspicuously present at the gathering.

The meeting ended with renewed optimism among the workers and a collective commitment to continue supporting the administration’s developmental agenda and efficient service delivery at the grassroots.
