The Chairperson of Ekameta Local Council Development Area, Mrs. Funmilola Adeniji, has urged girls in the LCDA to take a stand against digital violence and promote a safe online environment.

Mrs. Adeniji made this appeal during a program on Gender-Based Violence, organized for girls from four secondary schools in the LCDA, at the LCDA Secretariat, Erijiyan Ekiti. The event was part of a broader initiative by the wife of the Executive Governor, Dr. Mrs. Olayemi Oyebanji.

In her lecture, Mrs. Adeniji encouraged the girls to unite in fighting digital violence and promote a culture of respect and empathy online. Mrs. Lola Bello, Gender Officer in the Department of Community Development, also advised the girls on the importance of personal hygiene.

The Chairperson, accompanied by the wife of the Secretary to the LCDA, Dr. Mrs. Olatunbosun Stella Oluwakemi, and Hon. Omolola Ogunkoyode, distributed sanitary pads to the girls.

The students expressed their gratitude to the wife of the Governor, Dr. Mrs. Olayemi Oyebanji, for the initiative, with representatives from the four schools – Miss Olajubu Opeyemi, Miss Agbedahunsi Esther, Miss Modupeoluwa Mercy, and Miss Ogundele Abisola – speaking on behalf of their peers.
