The Ekiti State Sport Development Office, under the leadership of Dr. Olusola Osetoba, congratulates the four Ekiti students selected to represent Nigeria at the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship (WAFU-B Qualifiers) in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
The players — Ayomide Adeleke (Midfielder), Marcus Adeyanju (Forward), Abdulrazzaq Mufutau (Forward), and Tobiloba Adedeji (Defender) — form part of the 19-man national squad assembled from schools that qualified through the national finals in Abuja.
Their selection underscores the impact of Ekiti State’s structured grassroots football programme and the steady advancement of teenage sports development driven by the Sport Development Office.
Dr. Osetoba commended the athletes for earning national recognition and noted that their inclusion reflects the state’s growing footprint in youth football development.
She also applauded Ayomide Adeleke for converting the decisive penalty that secured Nigeria’s 1–0 victory over Benin Republic in the second group match, describing the performance as a proud moment for Ekiti.
Dr. Osetoba encouraged the players to maintain discipline, character, and focus as the tournament progresses, assuring them of the state’s full support.
