Dr. Osetoba Celebrates Victories of Ekiti State-Owned Teams

The Technical Advisor to the Governor of Ekiti State on Sports Development, Dr. Mrs. Olusola Osetoba, has congratulated the state-owned football teams following their impressive performances in recent matches.

Dr. Osetoba praised Ekiti Queens FC for their 2–0 victory over Pacetter Queens FC of Ibadan at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti, in their Matchday 15 fixture of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) season. The win marks a significant return home for the team

She also commended Ekiti United FC for their 2–0 triumph over Stormers FC at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, Ogun State. The result stands out as the team’s first away win of the season, breaking a long-standing run without victory in an away encounter

Speaking on the developments, Dr. Osetoba expressed heartfelt joy, describing the period as a “week of victory” for Ekiti State. She referenced the recent court ruling that affirmed Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji as the APC candidate for the June 20, 2026 Ekiti State Governorship election, alongside the successes recorded by the state’s football teams.

The Technical Advisor appreciated Governor Oyebanji for his continued support and commitment to the development of sports in the state. She also acknowledged the unwavering support of stakeholders and fans for both teams, popularly known as the “BAO Boys” and “BAORESS Babes,” in their home and away fixtures.

Dr. Osetoba concluded by urging the management and players of Ekiti Queens FC to remain focused and work harder to avoid relegation as the league progresses.
