In a proactive and future-focused engagement, the Executive Chairman of Irepodun Ifelodun Local Government, Igede Ekiti, Hon. Oluwagbenga Oluwatuyi, popularly known as CHENCO, on Friday passionately charged staff to cultivate the noble culture of savings, emphasizing that “financial discipline today secures dignity and comfort tomorrow.
”
Speaking during the monthly interactive session with staff of the Information and Civic Orientation Department, the Chairman delivered a heartfelt and visionary message, urging workers to “embrace structured savings schemes as a pathway to achieving their long-term aspirations and resting honourably in the years ahead.”

In a tone filled with wisdom and foresight, he reminded staff that the season of strength and income is the best time to prepare for the future, noting that “those who save while the sun shines will stand tall in times of need, rather than finding themselves in want when they should be givers.”

With deep administrative concern and economic insight, the Chairman further highlighted the enduring value of thrift-mindedness, especially when salaries and statutory deductions are paid as and when due.

He described savings “not merely as a financial habit, but as a legacy of responsibility, stability, and self-reliance that strengthens families, institutions, and the larger community.”

The session resonated as a timely call to action—an inspiring reminder that disciplined savings today is a seed of tomorrow’s peace, dignity, and fulfilment.

Honourable Oluwatuyi also emphatically stated that staff should appreciate the empathy and compassion of the government of Governor Abayomi Oyebanji in ensuring the constant payment of salaries and deductions as and when due.

He therefore encouraged staff to embrace this opportunity by adopting a positive and futuristic mindset toward savings, without complaints, in order to secure their financial future.

In his humility and objective appeal, Mr. Adedipe Olakitan expressed profound appreciation to the Chairman for the rare privilege and open-door audience consistently granted to the department through the monthly interactive engagements. He acknowledged the Chairman’s unwavering commitment to staff welfare and administrative inclusiveness, assuring that the Information and Civic Orientation Department “will remain steadfast in its responsibility to diligently showcase the Chairman’s pragmatic and people-oriented achievements to the constituents of the Local Government and beyond, thereby strengthening public awareness and confidence in his purposeful leadership.”
