The Executive Chairman of Ikere Local Government, Hon. (Sqn. Ldr. Rtd.) Olu Adamolekun, has expressed sadness over the sudden and unexpected passing of Dr. Abiodun Adu, a loss felt across Ikere Kingdom.
Dr. Adu, a retired Obstetrician and Gynaecologist based in London, is reported to have passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the age of 80.
He was a respected son of Ikere who contributed immensely to society through his profession while remaining connected to his roots.
The Chairman extends his condolences to the Adu family, including his elder brother Pastor Bamigbola Adu the proprietor of King of Kings Nursery and Primary Ikere Ekiti, Sade Adu, famous Nigeria – British singer and to the entire Ikere community during this period of mourning.
Chairman Adamolekun prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased and fortitude for all affected by the loss.
Late Dr Abiodun Adu, a veteran medical practitioner was survived by wife and children.
