EKSU CLARIFIES SCHOOL FEES POLICY, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO ACCESSIBLE QUALITY EDUCATION

The Management of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, has been inundated with a social media video on tiktok ignorantly expressing “concerns” and misinforming the public on the school fees for its students and appealing to the Governor of Ekiti State and the Vice-Chancellor to intervene.

While the University recognises the concerns of parents and prospective students regarding access to quality education, it wishes to clarify that the university has not increased school fees. The current school fee regime had been in operation for the past three years and as approved by the Governing Council of the institution.
The University operates within the realities of providing quality education, sustaining academic infrastructure, equipping laboratories, maintaining facilities and delivering effective teaching and learning. Its fee structure must therefore be understood within the broader context of the resources required to maintain academic standards and institutional sustainability.

The Management remains committed to the welfare of students and prospective students and continues to engage relevant stakeholders on issues affecting access to university education. It also encourages parents and applicants to obtain accurate information on approved fees through the University’s official channels rather than rely solely on unverified social media reports.

The University also considers it important to acknowledge the contributions of the Governor of Ekiti State and Visitor to the University, His Excellency, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, to the development of EKSU and other tertiary institutions in the state.

EKSU Management reiterates its commitment to academic excellence, responsible and responsive administration, student welfare and the provision of a conducive learning environment. The University will continue to work with the state government, parents, students and other stakeholders to advance its mandate.

The Management therefore urges members of the public to ignore any misinformation on the administration of the university and to seek clarification through official University channels on issues of genuine concerns.
