The Executive Chairman of Ijero Local Government, Hon. Julius Abayomi Folowosele, has congratulated Nigerians and the people of Ekiti State as the country commemorates its 66th Independence Anniversary and Ekiti marks 30 years of statehood.

In a goodwill message marking the twin celebrations,
Folowosele described the anniversaries as significant milestones in Nigeria’s national journey and Ekiti State’s evolution, noting that they provide an opportunity for reflection, gratitude and renewed commitment to the ideals of unity, good governance and sustainable development.

The Ijero Local Government helmsman called on citizens to draw inspiration from the sacrifices of the nation’s founding fathers and successive generations who contributed to the growth and development of Nigeria, stressing that the responsibility of building a stronger nation rests on the collective shoulders of both leaders and citizens.

According to him, true patriotism transcends political, ethnic and religious considerations, urging Nigerians to embrace peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and a shared sense of responsibility for the country’s future.

Folowosele also celebrated the people of Ekiti State on the 30th anniversary of the creation of the state, describing the milestone as a testament to the resilience, intellectual strength, cultural heritage and enduring determination of the Ekiti people.

He noted that over the past three decades, Ekiti has continued to make remarkable contributions to education, public service, agriculture, human capital development and democratic governance, while expressing optimism that the state would attain greater heights in the years ahead.

The Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to grassroots development, responsive leadership and programmes that directly impact the lives of residents of Ijero Local Government.

He further urged the people of Ijero to remain united and supportive of initiatives aimed at accelerating development, emphasizing that sustainable progress can only be achieved when government and citizens work together with a common purpose.

Folowosele prayed for continued peace, stability and prosperity across Nigeria and Ekiti State, while expressing confidence that the country’s challenges can be overcome through collective determination, visionary leadership and unwavering faith in Nigeria’s future.

“As we celebrate Nigeria at 66 and Ekiti State at 30, let us renew our commitment to building a nation and a state where peace, justice, opportunity and prosperity are accessible to all. Our journey may not be without challenges, but with unity, courage and purposeful leadership, a brighter future remains within our reach,” he said.
