Ikere West Chairman Facilitates 28 Jobs for Constituents

… Beneficiaries get appointments in health, education, local government

The Executive Chairman of Ikere West Local Council Development Area, Ekiti State, Hon. Rufus Ige Olorunfemi, has facilitated employment opportunities for 28 indigenes of Ikere Local Government Area in various sectors of the state public service.

The beneficiaries, drawn from the 11 wards in Ikere Local Government, secured appointments in the Local Government Service, health sector, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM).

Olorunfemi, who received the beneficiaries during a meeting in Ikere, congratulated them on their appointments and charged them to reciprocate the opportunity with hard work, discipline and dedication to duty.

He urged them to comply with the rules and regulations governing the civil service, noting that their appointments came with the responsibility to serve the people and contribute to the development of Ekiti State.

The chairman said the employment opportunities were part of the promises he made to his constituents during his campaign.

“This is grace for you. But let us share the grace to others as I have done to you. I don’t need your money in return, only your prayers,” he said.

Olorunfemi thanked the Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, his deputy, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Christianah Afuye, and the Okinlua I of Ikere Kingdom for providing what he described as an enabling platform for employment opportunities.

He described the development as “Aanu ni a ri gba”, meaning “we obtained everything by grace.”

He further urged the beneficiaries to remain committed to their duties and use their positions to contribute positively to their communities.

The chairman’s wife, Mrs Aderonke Olorunfemi, commended the Ekiti State Government for giving her husband the opportunity to serve as chairman of Ikere West LCDA.

According to her, the position had enabled him to make meaningful contributions to the welfare of his constituents.

She urged the beneficiaries to value their appointments, noting that many qualified Nigerians were still searching for employment.

She also encouraged them to pursue further education and professional development to improve their career prospects.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Rahim Ibrahim, a staff member of the Finance Department of Ikere West LCDA, described Olorunfemi as a leader who was responsive to the needs of his people.

He expressed appreciation to the chairman and the state government for the employment opportunities.

Another beneficiary, Mr Segun Kayode, commended the state government and thanked Olorunfemi for facilitating the appointments.

The beneficiaries collectively expressed appreciation for the opportunities and pledged to discharge their responsibilities diligently.
