Ifesowapo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has successfully observed the September 2026 edition of the monthly Environmental Sanitation exercise in compliance with the directive of the Ekiti State Government.

The exercise was carried out under the leadership of the Executive Chairman of Ifesowapo LCDA, Hon. Muyiwa Olabode Ajibola, who mobilized the management, staff and residents of the council area to participate actively in the cleaning exercise.

The sanitation exercise is part of the initiative of the administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) to promote cleanliness and ensure a healthy environment across all towns and rural communities in Ekiti State.

This month’s exercise was held under the theme “Together Let Us Eradicate Diseases Through Regular Environmental Sanitation.”

Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Ajibola described the theme as timely and essential to disease prevention and the overall well-being of the people.

He commended Governor Oyebanji for sustaining the monthly environmental sanitation policy, stressing that it has continued to yield positive results in the area of public health and environmental sustainability.

The chairman also expressed profound appreciation to the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Erelu Tosin Aluko-Ajisafe, for her dedication and efficient coordination of environmental sanitation activities across the state.

He noted that her sanitarian service delivery has contributed immensely to keeping Ekiti clean and safe for all residents.

The exercise was monitored by Ifesowapo LCDA Management, security agents, environmental health and sanitation officials led by their Director, Sanitarian Bamidele Caleb K.

The monitoring team moved round various streets and communities within the LCDA to ensure strict compliance with environmental sanitation rules, as residents were seen clearing drains, sweeping surroundings and disposing of waste properly.

Hon. Ajibola urged residents to make environmental cleanliness a daily habit and not just a monthly affair, adding that collective effort remains key to eradicating diseases.

The Head of Local Government Administration (HLA), Mr. Segun Adebayo, thanked the management, security agents and officials for participating effectively during the exercise and ensuring that the exercise achieved its positive goals.
