Honourables Oluwatuyi and Alade’s First-Term Footprints: Supporters Applaud Developmental Milestones Across IILG

By Ola Asubiojo

Honourable Oluwatuyi Oluwagbenga, popularly known as CHENCO, and his organic, humble and resourceful Vice Chairman, Honourable Engineer Alade Babatunde Remi, have, according to their supporters, etched a remarkable chapter in the developmental story of IILG through purposeful, pragmatic and people-oriented leadership.

Their visible interventions in infrastructure, healthcare, education and human-capital development, alongside empowerment initiatives reportedly benefiting over 1,000 people across Igede and Awo Ekiti, have been presented by supporters as evidence of an administration seeking to translate governance from political rhetoric into tangible benefits for the people.

The provision of hygienic and sustainable solar-powered boreholes has also attracted commendation, particularly for its potential to improve access to clean water and contribute to the prevention of water-borne diseases.

The administration has further demonstrated what supporters describe as a productive synergy between political leadership and the professional administrative machinery, with the HLA, Mrs Akinbobola Deborah-Bosede, and the NULGE leadership under Comrade Olawole Festus Aina, contributing to the collective pursuit of effective local governance.

Its renewed respect for the traditional institution is equally reflected in the renovation of the Traditional Council building, an intervention supporters say has helped restore dignity to an important pillar of the community’s cultural heritage.

In agriculture and natural-resource development, initiatives involving piggery, hybrid cocoa, oil palm and cassava production have also emerged as notable areas of attention, with the potential to promote economic empowerment, strengthen food security and expand the local government’s revenue base.

Equally significant, according to supporters, is the administration’s reported assistance to orphans, vulnerable widows and other disadvantaged members of the community—initiatives that have given governance a distinctly human dimension.

Against this backdrop, supporters of the Executive Chairman, Honourable Oluwatuyi Oluwagbenga, and Vice Chairman, Honourable Engineer Alade Babatunde Remi, maintain that the experience, initiatives and developmental momentum recorded during their first term deserve continuity for another three-year tenure.

They argue that sustaining the administration’s pragmatic and people-oriented approach would provide an opportunity to consolidate existing gains, strengthen ongoing initiatives and pursue further development across IILG.

Ultimately, leadership is measured not merely by the grandeur of promises, but by the lives touched, institutions strengthened, dignity restored and opportunities created.

On that enduring principle, supporters regard the administration of Honourable Oluwatuyi Oluwagbenga and Honourable Engineer Alade Babatunde Remi as an important reference point in the evolving story of purposeful local governance.
