Retired Executive Secretary in the Ekiti State Local Government Service, Mr. Olusesan Ayo Aina, on Saturday held a thanksgiving service at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Imayan, Otun-Ekiti, to express gratitude to God for a successful 30-year career.
The church service was well attended by family members, friends, colleagues, traditional rulers, political leaders and other prominent personalities who gathered to celebrate and rejoice with the retiree.
In his testimony, Aina thanked God for His protection throughout his career, saying he completed the 30 years without recording any accident or losing any member of his family.
He recalled several kidnapping incidents along his route to work but expressed gratitude to God that he never fell victim.

Aina also appreciated his wife, children and colleagues for their cooperation and support throughout his career journey. He advised people to trust God and remain dedicated and committed to whatever they do.
Earlier in his sermon, the Imayan District Pastor, Pastor Oyewumi S.O., congratulated Aina on the successful completion of his career.
The cleric urged the congregation to embrace diligence and resilience in whatever they do, stressing that there is always a reward for hard work. Quoting the scripture, he said, “Whoever is diligent in his work shall stand before kings and not ordinary men.”
Pastor Oyewumi urged the congregation to emulate Aina’s good deeds, commitment and exemplary conduct while in service. Special prayers were also offered for Aina and his family.
Meanwhile, Aina formally has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his ward, Otun Ward 1, Otun-Ekiti.
Receiving the new entrant, the Ekiti State APC Chairman, Barr. Sola Elesin, congratulated Aina on joining the progressive fold and described him as a long-standing sympathiser of the APC whose formal entry would further strengthen the party in the state.
Elesin urged party members to welcome, support and cooperate with Aina, stressing that he was not coming to usurp anybody’s position or responsibility but to contribute his quota to the progress of the party.
“By the power conferred on me by the National Chairman of our great party and the leader of the party in Ekiti State, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, I welcome you to the party and hereby present to you the symbol of our party—the broom,” Elesin said.
He expressed confidence that Aina’s entry would boost the party’s chances in Moba and Ekiti State at large.
Responding, Aina thanked the party leadership for the warm reception and pledged his loyalty and commitment to the party, promising to work for its unity, progress and success.
The event was attended by the Oore of Mobaland, Oba Odunayo Aadeagbo, serving and retired Permanent Secretaries in the Local Government Service, Executive Secretaries, Heads of Local Government Administration (HLAs), Directors, traditional chiefs, political leaders, colleagues and other stakeholders.
