Ero LCDA stood still in celebration on Thursday, February 19, 2026, as the Executive Chairperson, Hon. Felicia Ibiloye, empowered over 400 farmers with an extensive distribution of modern farm inputs aimed at boosting food production and strengthening the local economy.
The large-scale intervention saw beneficiaries receive a wide array of essential agricultural materials. Items distributed include a large number of spraying pumps; series of glyphosate products such as Para Force, Force Up, Relisate, Altrazine, Uproot, Slasher and Striker; Apron Plus seed treatment chemicals; hybrid maize seedlings; herbicides; spades; shovels; cutlasses; hoes; files; rain boots; chemicals and several other farm tools designed to enhance productivity and efficiency.
This monumental empowerment marks the second major intervention within the week, following closely behind the successful solar power distribution programme earlier conducted by the council. The back-to-back initiatives underscore the Chairperson’s unwavering commitment to delivering tangible dividends of democracy to the grassroots.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Ibiloye reiterated that agriculture remains a top priority of her administration, emphasizing that empowering farmers is synonymous with empowering families and securing the future of Ero LCDA.
She attributed the success of the programme to the enabling environment created by the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, whose revitalization of the local government system has strengthened governance at the grassroots and made impactful programmes like this possible.
On behalf of the revered monarchs in the council, the Onirare of Irare Ekiti,HRM Oba Olukayode, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Chairperson and the management of Ero LCDA. He reaffirmed the traditional institution’s commitment to supporting the administration, noting that Mama Ibiloye has consistently embarked on people-oriented projects that directly impact the lives of the people.

He described the empowerment as just the “tip of the iceberg,” assuring residents that even greater developmental strides are still to come. He offered prayers for God’s continued guidance and blessings upon the Chairperson, acknowledging her genuine passion for the welfare of her people.
In her remarks, the Director of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mrs. Adenike Oluboyede, applauded the Hon. Chairperson for her visionary leadership and consistent support for the agricultural sector, describing her as the brain behind the transformative developments taking place in the council.
