Today at the Hexagon Chamber of the Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Secretariat was nothing short of historic, as the ever-social, brilliant, innovative, and analytical Executive Chairman, Honourable Oluwatuyi Oluwagbenga (CHENCO), alongside his pragmatic and game-changing team, hosted a deeply emotional and impactful Overwhelming Stewardship Appreciation in honour of the political leadership and administrative management of the Local Government.
The atmosphere radiated unity, gratitude, and purposeful leadership, celebrating a governance style firmly rooted in cooperation, mutual respect, inclusiveness, and visible results. The Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs. Akinbobola Deborah-Bosede, passionately appreciated the Chairman for his uncommon understanding, steadfast support, and people-centred leadership, noting that his leadership disposition has positively cascaded across departments, energised staff morale, and strengthened service delivery, while charging the management team to scale performance to even greater heights in the coming year.
Directors of the Local Government, through Messrs Hassan Subir, Faluyi Joseph, Adegoke Peters ,speaking with depth, clarity, and good humour, applauded the Chairman and his team for the outstanding achievements recorded so far and reaffirmed their unbroken commitment to supporting his vision until it fully translates into sustainable development outcomes. Members of the Legislative Council,, the majority leader and the Deputy leader,equally praised the Chairman for the harmony, cooperation, and mutual respect extended to the legislative arm, describing it as a solid foundation for the remarkable progress recorded.
The Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Dr. Tunji Sule, charged staff to remain proactive, innovative, and service-driven, encouraging openness to ideas and collaboration in driving the executive vision forward, while offering prayers for greater achievements and sound health for the leadership. The Vice Chairman, Hon. Engr. Alade Remi, called for sustained synergy between political and administrative stakeholders, stressing that deeper unity would yield even greater milestones. The Leader of the Legislative House, Honourable Mrs Olagunju Yemisi,affirmed that the successes recorded so far are products of collective governance and urged that such cooperation continue gloriously.
The NULGE Chairman, Comrade Aina Olawole Festus (Lawii), described the programme as the first of its kind in the history of the Local Government, commending the administration’s inclusive leadership and pledging continuous, objective, and constructive support.
In his heartfelt address, Honourable Oluwatuyi Oluwagbenga expressed profound joy at the overwhelming show of unity, describing the management team as the engine room of effective governance. He charged political and administrative leaders to continually embrace peace, love, patience, understanding, and forgiveness, while carrying along their deputies as future administrative leaders for sustainable continuity. The event also witnessed the unveiling of a beautifully documented magazine titled “Track of Sustainable Growth: An Account of Stewardship by Honourable Gbenga Oluwatuyi – Two-Year Milestone,” a compelling testament to visionary leadership in action.
All Directors, Deputy Directors, political leaders from Igede Ekiti and Awo Ekiti, alongside religious leaders, were lavishly appreciated with bountiful gifts, foodstuffs, healthy chickens, sumptuous meals, assorted drinks, and moments of shared laughter, banter, and genuine fellowship that defined the spirit of the day. The Deputy Director of Administration, Mr. Adenrele, beaming with satisfaction, described the event as a positive landmark that will remain a proud reference point in the history of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government.
