As part of efforts to strengthen security and enhance rapid response to emergency in Aiyekire local government area,the Executive Chairman of the council,Hon. Adeyemo Davies has presented motorcycles and security gadgets to the security agencies operating in the local government area.
The presentation was made on Thursday at the local government secretariat, Ode-Ekiti.
Speaking at the event, Adeyemo said the initiative was borne out of the administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property. According to him, effective security remains a priority, especially at the grassroots level where prompt response can prevent crime and maintain public order.
He noted that the motorcycles would aid mobility for security operatives, particularly in hard-to-reach areas, while the gadgets would improve communication and coordination among security teams.
The chairman also urged the beneficiaries to use the items responsibly and solely for the purpose of protecting the Local people.
Responding ,representatives of the security agencies, including Mr. Sunday Anisere of Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and Mr. Toyin Oguntuase of Amotekun Corps expressed appreciation to the Aiyekire local government authority for the timely intervention, describing it as a morale booster.
They assured the council of their readiness to intensify patrols and ensure the safety of people of Aiyekire Communities, and their properties, particularly in this Yuletide season.
The event was attended by the Secretary to the local government,Hon. Esan Ogunjobi, representative of ministry of Local Government affairs, Mr Segun Omolere, Head of Local Government Administration Barr, Adebayo Cosmas, senior staff and representative of all security agencies in the local government.
