Ado Local Government on Wednesday celebrated the illustrious career of Prince Adebayo Adeyomoye, its former Director of Information & Civic Orientation, who retired from Ekiti State Local Government Service with an enviable 35-year record of unblemished service.
The ceremony, held at the secretariat of the Council, drew dignitaries from politics, academia, business, and the civil service, and was a fitting tribute to Adeyomoye’s dedication and commitment to public service.
In his remarks, Chairman of Ado Local Government, Chief Bosun Osaloni, eulogized Adeyomoye’s exceptional qualities, describing him as a dependable, brilliant, and conscientious public servant who consistently demonstrated unwavering loyalty and dedication to him and his duty.
“Adeyomoye is a dependable and loyalty personified. He is a glorious son destined for higher levels. I want to assure you, I will not leave you to suffer. Your loyalty to me is perfect,” he declared.
The Council boss advised his wife to take good care of him and enjoined the serving staff to borrow a leaf from his behaviour.
Chief Osaloni concluded his speech by announcing Adeyomoye’s appointment as Special Adviser on Information and Public Communication, citing his exceptional performance and loyalty as the basis for this decision.
In their separate remarks, Vice Chairman Hon. Faushat Aladetoyinbo, Secretary Mrs. Kehinde Olanipekun, Head of Administration Mr. Femi Ajidahun, and Ado Local Government Chairman of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Com. Omodaratan, extolled Adeyomoye’s exemplary character, urging serving staff to emulate his sterling qualities.
Responding, Adeyomoye expressed profound gratitude to God and the Chairman for the honour, acknowledging it as a rare privilege. He thanked the management for organising a befitting send-forth ceremony in his honour and promised not to betray the confidence the Chairman has in his ability.
The event featured cultural displays, choir ministration, cutting of birthday cake, gifts presentation, and goodwill messages.
Adeyomoye rose through the ranks from messenger to Director of Information, served in several local governments, and was a Special Adviser on Media & Publicity to the former Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission Chairman, Architect Sola Omotoso.
