Recent reports making the rounds on social media have alleged that Hon. Biodun Omoleye, member representing Ekiti Central Federal Constituency II at the House of Representatives, led a group of National Assembly members to frustrate Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s second-term ambition. These claims are not only false but malicious. It’s a deliberate attempts to malign a man whose entire political journey has been defined by loyalty, service, and respect for party supremacy.

Ordinarily, such baseless fabrications would not deserve a response. But in an age where silence can easily be mistaken for guilt, it becomes necessary to set the record straight. Hon. Omoleye’s loyalty to Governor Oyebanji and to the All Progressives Congress (APC) is total, proven, and unwavering. What is being circulated is nothing more than a clumsy effort by political opportunists to sow discord where harmony exists.
Politics, especially in its heated seasons, often attracts mischief. Ambition can blur judgment, and some are quick to twist facts for selfish gain. But the truth remains clear: Hon. Biodun Omoleye has never, at any time, worked against Governor Oyebanji’s re-election or ambition. His record tells a different story — one built on consistency, patience, and faith in leadership.
From the beginning of his political career, Hon. Omoleye has lived by one guiding principle — loyalty to the party and respect for its hierarchy. It is worth recalling that after Dr. Kayode Fayemi lost his bid for continuity at the end of his first tenure and went on to serve as Minister, it was Hon. Omoleye who sustained the political structure that later brought Fayemi back to office. He held that system together when many had given up. And it was on this same structure — which Omoleye helped to preserve — that Governor Oyebanji eventually emerged as Fayemi’s successor. Surely, a man who helped build the house cannot now be plotting to pull it down.
It is equally ironic that those spreading these lies have even gone so far as to accuse Dr. Fayemi himself of plotting against the very man he laboured to install as his successor. The same Fayemi who did everything within his power to ensure the continuity of APC’s governance beyond his own tenure by supporting Oyebanji’s emergence is now being falsely accused of trying to undermine him. If such an absurd allegation can be leveled against Dr. Fayemi, then it is no surprise that his loyal ally, Hon. Omoleye, is also being targeted. Mischief, after all, knows no shame.
During Governor Fayemi’s second term, Hon. Omoleye served with utmost diligence as Chief of Staff, working hand in hand with the current Governor, who was then Secretary to the State Government. Their relationship was cordial, professional, and built on mutual respect. Within that cabinet were three capable men named Biodun, all of whom were strong contenders for future leadership. But when the principal chose Biodun Oyebanji as his preferred successor, Hon. Omoleye accepted the decision with grace and supported it wholeheartedly. He neither sponsored rebellion nor challenged the process; instead, he campaigned for the party’s candidate like the loyal soldier he has always been.
Even in 2023, when Hon. Omoleye declared his intention to contest for the Ekiti Central senatorial seat, he humbly stepped aside when the party opted for another candidate. Rather than rebel, he abided by the party’s decision. In recognition of his maturity and steadfast loyalty, he was nominated by consensus to represent Ekiti Central Federal Constituency II in the House of Representatives. Though some aspirants did not abide with the decision of the party as they insisted on primary but at the end of the day, Omoleye emerged victorious at the primary. These are not the actions of a man at war with his party or his Governor — they are the marks of a disciplined and loyal politician.
The current rumours are, therefore, nothing but desperate attempts to weaken his credibility. As the political atmosphere begins to heat up, those who see Hon. Omoleye as an obstacle to their ambition have resorted to fabrication and falsehood. Hiding behind unnamed “sources” and faceless platforms, they spread tales without proof, hoping that repetition will make lies sound like truth. But Ekiti people are discerning. They know his temperament, his history, and his record of peace-building within the APC.
Let it be said clearly: Hon. Omoleye has never attended any secret meeting to undermine Governor Oyebanji. He has never sponsored an alternative camp within the party. Those who make such claims should come forward with evidence instead of idle gossip. His loyalty is not fickle; it is institutional, not transactional. He understands that power belongs to the party and that personal ambition must always yield to collective interest.
It is unfortunate, however, that some individuals who once benefited from his goodwill now see political gain in attacking him. But politics should be about ideas, not mudslinging. Ekiti deserves leaders who build bridges, not walls — those who heal divisions rather than exploit them. The APC in Ekiti remains one family, and unity is its greatest strength. Governor Oyebanji has earned widespread admiration through humility and performance, and every genuine party member should be working to strengthen his administration, not to create suspicion among his allies.
Hon. Omoleye’s relationship with Governor Oyebanji goes beyond political convenience. It is rooted in shared service and mutual respect. As Chief of Staff, he worked closely with Oyebanji to sustain the continuity of Fayemi’s government, even when Fayemi was occupied with his national responsibilities as Chairman of the Governor’s Forum. At no time, privately or publicly, did Hon. Omoleye oppose or criticize the Governor. His alignment has been consistent from day one.
We must also address another false narrative — that Hon. Omoleye’s position in the House of Representatives was a product of imposition or manipulation. Nothing could be further from the truth. His return was the outcome of internal party consensus and recognition of his steady contributions to the APC’s growth. Those questioning his legitimacy should first examine their own contributions to the party beyond spreading rumours.
Today, Hon. Omoleye remains focused on his legislative duties and steadfast in his support for Governor Oyebanji’s administration. He is not distracted by propaganda or envy because he believes service speaks louder than noise. In politics, character is not measured by what people say about you but by how firmly you stand by your principles — and Hon. Omoleye has stood firm.
To our supporters and well-meaning party members, we urge calm and restraint. Do not fall into the trap of unnecessary confrontation. We recognize no enemies within the APC. Every attack is simply proof that our relevance unsettles those who have little to offer. Governor Oyebanji preaches peace and unity, and we stand firmly by that message.
The truth is that Hon. Biodun Omoleye’s political story is deeply intertwined with the progress of the APC in Ekiti State. From the return of Fayemi to the emergence of Oyebanji, his fingerprints are on every major chapter of that history. His loyalty is written, not in words, but in deeds. Those who fabricate stories against him only end up exposing their own fears.
As the saying goes, “Lies may travel fast, but truth never loses its voice.” The truth about Hon. Biodun Omoleye’s loyalty will outlive the noise of falsehood. He remains a dependable ally of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and a committed member of the All Progressives Congress. His focus is service, his weapon is integrity, and his legacy will be defined by loyalty.
Falsehood may run, but truth will always catch up. Time, as always, will vindicate those who stand by honesty, conviction, and loyalty.
